This function calculates the distance for which a specified weight should be moved to bring the center of gravity within limits. A positive distance indicates that the cargo should be moved rearward (further from the datum line), and a negative distance indicates that the cargo should be moved forward (closer to the datum line).

The aircraft’s center of gravity is 5” forward of the limit (enter as -5). The gross weight is 17,000 lbs and the weight that can be moved is 1,200 lbs. How far should the cargo be moved to place the center of gravity within limits? Initially, the cargo is located at station 200”.
